Randomised trials and development policy

Dr Andrew Leigh has written a post, here, proposing randomised trials in indigenous related policy as a means to gather evidence-based information.

Adopting a position of several different targeted trials across different regions is a worthy ideal.  Trials could include independent and closely monitored research.  There are a multitude of different policy proposals, all of which can be targeted in a strategic way.  National leadership in partnership with regions is a way of building bi-partisanship around solutions.

Dr Leigh’s post is necessary reading for those concerned with development policy in Australia.
